Resurrected Guild Rules

About Resurrected

Resurrected as a Raiding guild

Resurrected has been together as a guild since day 2 of Mok'Nathal server startup. We have been raiding endgame content since March 2007. Since then, we've proudly collected every server first from the Shade of Aran to Malygos, and intend to continue to do so as fast as new content is released.

Top

Our Goal

The main goal for Resurrected is to have fun and progress through raid content. Being on a PVE server our main objective is end-game raids. Sure, we like PvP too, but PvP is for after-hours and off-days. We are first and foremost a PVE raiding guild, and expect our members to act accordingly.

General Guidelines

Members Conduct

Members must attend minimum of 50% of raids, and loot priority is awarded for attendance above 75%. If for some reason, you cannot maintain minimum raid attendance it can affect your status as a member.

Inactive members will be removed from the guild unless you contact an officer explaining the reason for your being inactive. You will be required to submit a new application if you return.

The discussions in guild chat and on Ventrilo are often mature. So consider this your warring if you are sensitive to mature language.

The Guild Bank will provide you with a limited amount of consumables for select raid encounters, and gold per day for repair bills. However, we expect members to be able to farm gold for repair bills and mats when needed. If you cannot pay for your repair bills or consumables when needed you will be of no use to us on raids.

Drama is bad and should be discouraged whenever possible. If for some reason you need more drama, you need to go elsewhere.

You must have the following required Add-ons: Ventrilo, ORA2, any Threat Meter, and Deadly Boss Mods or Bigwigs. Paladins must have PallyPower to coordinate buffs. We may add fight specific addons to this list as leadership sees fit.

If online during raid time and needed for us to continue raiding, we expect you to be available to come in and raid. In addition, during raids we expect you to be Raid Spec, and Raid Geared for the entire duration. PvP is after-hours and off-days only. If you come to raid as PVP spec you will not get either DKP or Attendance for that raid.

We expect all gear to be properly gemmed and enchanted to the utmost. All relevant reputations should be maxed or in progress. Put in the effort to maximize your character and it's performance.

Application Process
  • The application process has a few phases. We do not have a big process to go through. The main portion of the application will just be an applicant raiding and proving their skill to the guild.
    1. Application stage - This begins when someone applies to Resurrected. The application will remain in our forums for commentary from guild members. Be ready to answer follow up questions, and if needed, come on vent for an interview.
    2. Probation stage - When you reach probation stage we will invite you to the guild with the rank of probation for a short trial period. It is possible to earn DKP during this period; however, new recruits/applicants have last priority on loot. We encourage our probation members to try for all items that are upgrades so they can gear as fast as possible. Resurrected wants you to be geared well enough to raid in the highest possible content we are doing. Within about two weeks, probationed recruits will be either promoted to initiate or removed from the guild.
    3. Initiate - An Initiate is a new member who is not eligible for promotion to core member loot priority status. New members will generally remain Initiates for a few weeks after their initial ginvite. Initiates are subject to a class review amongst the officers every week, and must use this time to address any performance issues that they may be having. Initiates are still under full membership review and may be guildkicked after any weekly performance review if they are deemed unqualified for our raiding spots.

Calling for Raids

All raids are schedule to start @ 7pm server time run until 12pm server time, unless noted other wise in the guild message of the day. Only the Guild leader or an officer can start a raid. If for some reason the Guild leader or an officer is not available to start the raid at designated time, the raid is considered pushed back in 15 minute intervals, or until 8pm server when the raid is consider canceled.

Do NOT ask about a raid location or raid invites before the scheduled raid start time, this is distracting and unnecessary.

Top

Ventrilo during raids

We all enjoy a good conversation so when we are just sitting around feel free to chat about whatever. However once we get started Ventrilo chatter will be limited to the Raid Leader, his Assistants, and any interjection from select raid members that is PERTINENT to what is happening at that moment. During encounters, any unnecessary talking is distracting and not permitted whatsoever. Violating this will result in a global mute or removal from raid and a ban on Ventrilo.

Top

Early Departure
We understand that sometimes you will not have the time for a full raid before you are forced to leave. If this is foreseen you must inform the raid leader before beginning to avoid disrupting the raid while we replace you. When the time is arriving that you need to leave give a 15 minute warning to the raid leader.
Top

Mistakes

Everyone makes mistakes we understand that. However, if you repeatedly die to the same mistake and are being detrimental to the raid, you will be replaced. If we must replace you for repeatedly making the same mistake, you may face a rank reduction if you are core, or a guildkick if you are still member or probation.

Top

Repair Bills and Consumables
In order to encourage progress the Guild bank finances 500g/day in repair costs. However if you use all gold allotted to you for the day you are expected to cover any additional costs. In addition to the guild Bank helping with repair bills we also assist with some consumables on certain bosses. Just like repairs we expect raiders to cover any additional consumables required for the raid.

In addition, complaining about repair bills or consumables is NOT acceptable. If you have a problem with repairs or consumables, either keep it to yourself or rant about it to your dog/cat/hamster. We do not want to hear about it and chances are somebody is paying more than you are.

Top

AFKs

There will be an official 15-minute break called at opportune moments, usually every 2 hours or so. These will be announced as far in advance as possible. Try to organize your time around that to be available and not impede progress. In any case things happen and you are allowed an AFK during a trash clear. In this case, please use the AFK flag to make it clear that you are in fact AFK. An unannounced AFK without justification will result in a DKP penalty for the night.

Top

Priority

When there are two people that want in the group for the same item off the current boss we are attempting and group composition is irrelevant the person that goes will be decided by the DKP preference. If you would win the item against that person anyways you will be selected for the raid spot. This applies only to bosses that are on farm.

Top

Raid slots for Alternative Characters

We recruited you for your main and the majority of your raid time will be devoted to your main. Should there be a need for an alt that you have we will ask you to play it. If you are asked to play an alt you can have DKP earned for that raid transferred to your main.

Top

Penalties

The first time that one of these rules is broken, it will be met with a warning. If it continues, you will be removed from the raid group and all DKP for the night will be forfeit. Further infractions will cause a severe DKP penalty. Nobody wants this to be necessary, so just be nice and fair to everyone and things will go smoothly.

Guild Master

The Guild Master is overall responsible for guild management, policy, and decisions, and the chief decision maker on all guild member additions, promotions, disciplinary actions, and removals . Guild master has final authority in all guild matters, and reserves the right to amend any rule if it seen to be in the best interest of the guild. Resurrected Guild Masters MUST be one of the most ACTIVE members of the guild, and if the GM is EVER gone for more than One Week, he must pass leadership to one of his Assistant GMs till he returns to a fulltime raider again. ONLY the GM does weekly promotions/demotions. Noone else. No rules may be amended or changed without approval of the GM.

Top

Assistant GM

Assistant GMs are trusted advisors and assistance to the Guild Master in all matters related to the Guild. Their overall mission is to support, plan, and implement guild events, which uphold the guild's ultimate goal. Expected to be able to reliably take over GM functions if necessary, and decisions arbitrated outrank everyone except the acting GM. Only the GM and Assistant GM may enforce penalties, and handle 5th and 6th tab Gbank items.

Top

Officers

Officers are core members who also help with Guild Duties and Raid management. Healing Assignments, Mob Marking, Raid Leading, Call outs, DKP, are all things officers are expected to help with. Officers get o-channel and o-forum access, as well as extended bank and repair access. All Officers must maintain Core Member 75% minimum attendance or face demotion like everyone else.

Top

Core Member

In order to be classified as a Core Member, you must be in the guild for at least 30 days, maintain at least a 75% raid attendance rate, and perform up to the level of hardmode progression raiders. Core Members has the highest Loot preference same as GM. Attendance based promotions/demotions are done on a "Past 30 Days" basis, weekly or bi-weekly. Core Members are expected to 'hold thier own' in raids. Excessive dying, causing wipes, underperforming on dps, healing or tanking, may result in a demotion to Probation, regardless of attendance.

Top

Member

This rank is for CORE members with attendance issues or NEW players who have not yet been in the guild for at least 4 weeks. MEMBERS must attend at least 50% of raids in order to maintain their member status. Members are expected to perform at Core Member skill level but just dont have the current attendance or are too new to the guild, and as such are a lower gear priority than Core Members and above.

Top

Probation
Probation is a relatively short raid day trial period with limited loot rights once we accept an applicant into the guild. It is the time in which new member must make a good impression and prove themselve worthy for initiate status. If we determine his/her attendance is insufficient or skill level inadequate, the probation period will be extended or they will be kicked by discretion of the guild leader. The guild leader may also demote ANY guildmember to this rank as a punishment, in order to address any outstanding issues regarding raid performance or behavior. Promotion from Probation incurs a 20 DKP penalty at time of promotion.
Top

Inactive
Established Members will be placed on inactive status if they have not raided consistently without prior notification to the Guild leader or an officer over a period of two weeks, and or have not logged in to the game for a period of seven days without prior notification. All non-raiding former members will also be grouped as Inactive. Upon return the Member will be remain as Inactive during a one week period with reduced loot preference If attendance is sufficient the Member will be reinstated as such. Retired raiders who remain with Resurrected for social reasons will also be tagged as Inactive. Extended inactivity will be a cause for removal from the guild at the discretion of the guild leader. Inactive members who want to regain member status MUST reapply to the guild on the Application Page.
Top

Alt
Self-explanatory. Do not ask for us to let your ALTs into DKP raids. You can do whatever you want on your Alts as long as you remain available to us on sitout and in Vent during raids. If we ever discover you secretly raiding for another guild on an alt during our raids, you will be permanently Guildkicked from Resurrected, with Zero chance at ever returning. Be warned.
Top

Social
Social guildtags are is reserved for spouses, children, girlfriends, boyfriends, siblings, etc of CORE MEMBERS and above. Members and Initiates may not have Socials. All Social members must be sponsored by an existing Core Member. Core Members may sponsor one current social member at any time. If the Social's sponser loses his Core Member status, that social will be guildkicked or will have to find another sponser.
Top

Promotions

Promotions and Demotions will be handled EXCLUSIVELY by the guild leader or assistant GMs. Officers retain promotion and demotions rights for the sole purpose of Alts and housekeeping (Vacation, etc.).

Loot System

The Resurrected Loot System

Resurrected utilizes the Relational DKP system based on a percentage spent of DKP divided by total earned DKP. It attempts to even out the difference between raiders that have the opportunity to go to more raids than others do without unbalancing the system.

To calculate your quotient you divide your total points spent by your total points earned. The player with the lowest quotient will receive the item. In the event of a tie, we will conduct a roll to determine the winner.

All raiding guildmembers earn X dkp per boss, as well as X dkp per hour of raid time, with X being variable based on content. Members spend a fixed but variable amount of DKP per item based on itemlevel, and DKP is updated by the GM or Officers after EVERY boss kill to keep dkp up to date real time.

Every week DKP is decayed by a fixed percentage. DKP is rolled back to a cap of 250 total earned dkp and your spent is rounded down to your previous percentage. To put that clearly, your % doesnt change based on the rollback, only the numbers to achieve that %. What does make your % change every week is the fixed percentage of DKP decay. Everyone is applied the SAME decay % every week. Keep in mind, the lower your dkp %, the more of a penalty that dkp decay is to you. This is intentional to discourage hoarding.

Resurrected has used this system sucessfuly for well over a year now, and our members universally seem very happy with this system for both its rewards and its fairness.

Top

Weekly DKP Reset and Decay
Every Tuesday DKP resets to a ceiling of 400 DKP earned. In addition, everone's dkpwill decay by 15% every weekly reset, depending on progression status. This creates a system which rewards 'taking loot' rather than hoarding.
Top

New Members
All new members will start with 150 DKP spent and 150 DKP earned once they attend the first raid giving a quotient of 1. This ensures that a new member must attend a few raids before they begin to have preference over an established member. New Members must remain at Member rank for at least 4 weeks before being promoted to CORE.
Top

Offspec pieces

If an item is going to be disenchanted and is not for your main spec then you can ask for it 'offspec'. Offspecs MUST be approved to qualify as offspec. If the officers say its an offspec, then it is, if they say it isnt, it isnt. Thats that. OFF SPEC pieces are for hybrid classes ONLY. If you take an offspec non-tier item, you must give the GM or Raid Leader an Abyss Crystal or 150g on the day of that raid, or be charged full price. If you 'forgot' to pay, then you paid full DKP for the item instead. No exceptions, so... DONT FORGET!

Top

PvP spec pieces

If we are going to disenchant an item due to no interest for main spec or offspec and contains resilience, then you may pay 10 dkp pvpspec for the item.

Top

Trash drops

Do to the unexpected drop rate of Bind on Pickup Epic trash drops these items cost no DKP. However, the Loot preference still pertains to determine the order, which ranks will be considered for a roll on the item. As far as Bind on Equip BOE items are concerned, the Guild Bank will take these items to either be purchased for DKP by members main spec only based on loot priority and preference or sold to assist fund the Guild.

Non-epic (Blues) trash drop may be taken by the Guild Bank if the item has a high resale value, otherwise non-epic (Blues) will be random off to all raiders in instance with rank of member and above only. Greens will be random off to all raiders in the instance.

Top

Sitting out

There will be times when everyone will have to sit out on a raid. This can be unfair sometimes as certain classes need to be taken for certain fights (Fortunately, Blizzard usually takes this into account with the loot tables). There will always be more people available then can actually attend. To counter this each person that is available for the raid and is forced to sit out will be awarded the amount of points equivalent to that boss kill.

  • Conditions to be considered for sitout DKP
    1. Sitout DKP will only be earned if you are available for the majority of a trash clear.
    2. You must be ready to come in at any time, if at any time an attempt is made to bring you in and you are not available you lose your DKP for that attempt. The point is for us to be able to replace people quickly and if you aren't available, then you aren't helping and don't deserve DKP for it.
    3. You have to be logged into the game on your Main or on an Alt to be eligible for sitout dkp, not just in the Vent channel.
    4. It is permitted to be on an alt at the time.
Top

Refunds and Transfers

Buyer's Remorse will be allowed within the same raid night of an item being initially looted to you. If you passed on an item when it is initially offered, it cannot be transferred to you. BE SURE ABOUT YOUR LOOT! In the case that an item must be transferred, the moment you ticket the GM you get refunded your DKP and the person next in line to get it gets charged immediately. You cannot decide who you transfer an item to. It will go to the person next in line according to dkp, who was present at the time of the drop. Specific Exceptions may only be made at the discretion of the Guild Master.

Top

Alternative Characters
We treat alternative characters as new members into the system, including members that giver their characters away to other member. After transfer of ownership, we reset the DKP for that particular character to 50 earned and 50 spent.
Top

Switching Mains
We recruited you for your main. However In the case of switching main spec you must have equivalent set of gear required for the spec you requesting in order to be considered. The Guild leader will evaluate each request on a case-by-case basis to determine what is in best interest of the guild. As with the changing of main specs, there is an option to change mains to one of your alts. As is the case for the changing of specs, you MUST have a largely equivalent set of gear on your alt in order to be considered. However you keep your Alts current DKP along with a slight DKP charge, unless you where asked by them Guild leader to switch to you alt as you main then your DKP will just be swapped.
Top

Playing another persons character

Playing another persons character. When playing another persons character on a raid all DKP earned will be assigned to your main. DKP may be spent on the other person's behalf by explicit permission. Make the raid leader aware of who you are and whose character you are playing before doing so for permission on that particular raid and for correct DKP assignment.

Guild Quitting

Guild quitting causes unnecessary drama, so to discourage this we penalize any quitting member 100 DKP and a one week probation period upon rejoining. After that one week probation, that player is returned to his former status. There are many better ways of getting your point across than leaving the guild. Always remember it's best to talk to the GM or an officer before quitting.

Top

Switching Alts to Mains

We recruit our raiders VERY carefully. We constantly review how many of each class we want on our raiding roster. When you decide you would rather play your ALT instead of your MAIN in raids, it is a double whammy in terms of hurting our raid planning and roster management.

ONE, we lose a competent player who we evaluated, geared, instructed, and count on to fulful his class role effectively,... and TWO we are asked by that player to squeeze in his ALT into what is likely to be an already full class role roster.

Obviously we rarely ever allow Alt to Main changes, and in most cases you will not be allowed to change. Rarely, we may approach a player about the possibility of switching thier main to an alt for the best interest of the guild, but the final decision whether to change would be left upto that player. If for whatever reason you are given the chance to swap mains, you must reapply as a full probation period to evaluate your performance in that spec.

There will be a 100 dkp "Main Change Penalty" applied upon acceptance, unless guild leadership ASKED YOU to change your main to help the guild.

Top

Switching Main Spec

We recruited you for your declared MAIN SPEC and slotted you in to that specific raid spot. We evaluated your performance in THAT spec alone. If you decide you no longer want to play in that role, you must ask the GM if you will be allowed to switch your Main Spec.

We discourage spec changes, and in most cases you will not be allowed to change, but if you are given the chance, you must reapply as a full probation period to evaluate your performance in that spec. Exceptions to this, are when the GM specifically asks you to change your mainspec. If that is the case, you may forgoe probation and reapplying at the discretion of the GM.

There will always be a 100 dkp "spec change penalty" applied upon spec change acceptance.

Racism in Raids

There is a ZERO tolerance of racist comments in VENT or CHAT during raids. Vent and Chat cannot be turned off during raids, so they WILL remain Racist free, or the offender will get penalized immediately.

We are not here to play police. This is only during RAIDS. We have other vent channels for a reason and during non-raid times say whatever you feel like to whoever is willingly in that channel. On raids everyone is required to be in that one channel and is forced to listen to you whether or not they would prefer to avoid that type of humor or not.

  • In the case that these comments persist the following punishments will be applied on that Raid Night. The list doesnt carry over from one night to the next.
    1. First Offence: Warning
    2. 2nd: 20 DKP Penalty
    3. 3rd: Raid/DKP removal for night
    4. 4th: 1 Week Probation
    5. 5th: Guild Removal

Once again, do whatever you want in your free time but on raids, behave!

Top

PVPing during Raids

PVPing or just Refusing to raid with us during raid hours will not be tolerated. A 100 DKP penalty and demotion to one week probation will be given after the player is warned. If the player chooses to return to raiding after that one week probation, that player is returned to his former status. This is a raiding guild, if you dont want to raid find another guild.

Top

Ninja Logging

Ninja Logging causes unnecessary drama, so to discourage this we penalize any ninjalogging member any dkp earned that raid night. Repeated ninjalogs will get you demotion to probation. There are many better ways of getting your point across than to ninjalog. What constitutes a "ninja-log"? When the majority of the raid agrees that it was a ninjalog, then it was a ninja-log.

Top

Loot Assignment Penalties

We cannot allow players to play idiotic jokes resulting in either wasted time or misassigned loot . If you want the loot ONSPEC you say ME, if you want the loot OFFSPEC you say OFF or OFFSPEC. You may also ask the officer to WAIT if you need a few extra moments to decide. Saying ME as a joke will result in a 5 DKP penalty. Saying OFFSPEC when it is clearly ONspec in an obvious effort to fool the officers will also be a 5 DKP penalty. If you are confused as to whether the item qualifies as OFFSPEC, then ASK the officer who is doing loot.
